A Real Estate Agent's (quick) guide to EFynch.com

EFynch.com has worked to develop a product specifically for Long & Foster Agents and help in the exchange of information pertaining to Home Improvement.

As you are likely aware, referring a handyman or contractor in the State of Maryland can bring unwanted liability for the Agents. Further, you are required to follow a set of specific steps in providing the contact information which also includes verification and copies of the license with time stamps.

To reduce your exposure to violating this rule, we recommend you keep the information below in mind when using EFynch.


1. In order to use the full protection of EFynch, you must only use contractors that have the Fynchnest Logo on their profiles and only share information through the "share" tab on the website and app.  This is the only guaranteed way to include the required information (licensed, law, links, disclosures).

 2. You cannot list project on behalf of your clients. This is a violation of both Maryland Real Estate Commission rules and Home Improvement law. A Client must register their own account (link here), and post the job and list of work themselves.

 3. EFynch offers an escrow service for work performed on the system. To extend various protections to the client or receive any of the EFynch guarantees on the payments  you must recommend the Client use the Escrow Service (which also provides a MHIC compliant Contract).

The rules, terms and condition, disclosures, and the entire process is specifically designed to reduce your liability. If you do not follow these rules- you may be open to exposure. Shovel your driveway for convenience. Shovel the sidewalk or be FINED!

These are your good neighbors who are out clearing their driveways in order to avoid busting their Phisteris' or just taking a terrible slip.  But I have to tell you, it doesn't end there. Hire a Handyman- Risk Identity Theft- The Pay Per Lead Industry you don't know exists

Your home improvement/ handyman fears are now diminished and the smiling (sometimes made up) personality is assuring your comfort. However, there is a glaring problem and it has to do with profits and the security of your personal information.  *The "Before We Start Disclaimer": Not every online home improvement company does what I am about to describe but, it is prevailant.
